ম্যালকম এক্স (১৯২৫ – ১৯৬৫) ছিলেন একজন আফ্রিকান-মার্কিন মুসলিম রাজনীতিবিদ ও ধর্মীয় নেতা, যিনি যুক্তরাষ্ট্রে কৃষ্ণাঙ্গদের মানবাধিকার আদায়ের আন্দোলনে অন্যতম অংশগ্রহণকারী ছিলেন। জন্মের পর তার নাম হয় ম্যালকম লিট্‌ল এবং ইসলামে ধর্মান্তরিত হলে তার নতুন নামকরণ হয় ম্যালকম এক্স। তিনি আল-হাজ্জ মালিক আল-শাব্বাজ নামেও পরিচিত। ম্যালকম লিট্‌ল মার্কিন যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের নেব্রাস্কা রাষ্ট্রের ওমাহা শহরে একটি খ্রিষ্টান আফ্রিকান- মার্কিন পরিবারে জন্ম গ্রহণ করেন। তার বয়স তেরো হলে তার পিতা মৃত্যুবরণ করে এবং তার মাতা মানসিকভাবে অসুস্থ হয়ে যাওয়ার ফলে তার মাতাকে আ্যসাইলামে ভর্তি হতে হয়। ১৯৪৬ সালে পুলিশ তাকে গ্রেপ্তার করে এবং আদালত তাকে সাজা দেওয়ার জন্য আট থেকে দশ বছরের জন্য কারাদন্ডের আদেশ দেয়। বন্দিকালে ম্যালকম লিট্‌ল শিয়া ইসলামে ধর্মান্তরিত হন এবং একটি ইসলামী দল, নেশন অব ইসলামের সদস্য হন। ১৯৫২ সালে তার বন্দির শর্তাধীন মুক্তি হলে তিনি তার বংশনাম সরিয়ে এক্স রাখেন এবং ম্যালকম এক্স হিসাবে পরিচয় লাভ করেন। ম্যালকম এক্স পরে নেশন অব ইসলামের অন্যতম নেতা ও প্রধান মুখপাত্র নিযুক্ত হন। ১৯৫৮ সালে বেটি স্যান্ডার্সের সঙ্গে ম্যালকম এক্স বিবাহবন্ধনে আবদ্ধ হন। নেশন অব ইসলাম প্রস্থান করার পর, ম্যালকম এক্স সুন্নী ইসলামে ধর্মান্তরিত হন এবং মক্কায় হজ করেন, যার পর থেকে তিনি জাতিভেদ অস্বীকার করেন। ১৯৬৫ সালের ২১শে ফেব্রুয়ারি, নিউ ইয়র্কে ম্যালকম এক্স জনতার সামনে একটি বক্তৃতাদানের সময়, কিছু ঘাতক তাকে গুলি করে হত্যা করে।
