About the Authors Greg Mortenson is an American writer, humanitarian, former mountaineer and professional speaker. He founded Central Asia Institute (CAI) and the educational charity called Pennies for Peace. He has also authored Stones into Schools: Promoting Peace with Books, Not Bombs, in Afghanistan and Pakistan. David Oliver Relin was an American journalist and author. He was a contributing editor for Parade. He was honoured with numerous awards as a writer and editor, including the Kiriyama Prize.
