Sir Charles Spencer "Charlie" Chaplin was born in London, England. He was the greatest comedian, actor and filmmaker of his times, and remains to be one. His movies were phenomenal during the silent era. His portrayal of ‘the Tramp’ on screen made millions across the world laugh and cry and ponder upon the smallest moments of life which make a lifetime. Although he came from a background of utter poverty, his sheer determination and belief in the art of acting made him scale greater heights in life eventually. Chaplin passed away at the age of 88, in Switzerland.
