Product Specification & Summary

Summary Of The Book
The Storyteller: Tales From The Arabian Nights narrates the tale of King Shahriyar, the King of Persia, who marries a different woman every night and kills them in the morning. Scheherazade is the brave and beautiful daughter of the Chief Minister. She is determined to save herself and the lives of the various young women from the horrifying decree of the King.

On their wedding night, Scheherazade begins an enthralling story and stops her tale at a crucial moment just before dawn. The King, who is eager to know the how the tale ends, decides to postpone her execution. And this continues for 1,001 nights. She tells him stories of genies, caliphs, kings, queens, magic lamps, fishermen, and mysterious potions. Anushka Ravishankar retells the many classic stories of the Arabian Nights and interweaves wit, wisdom, bravery, courage and truth in her tales.

The book includes stories like The Fisherman and the Djinn, The Story of the Ox and the Donkey, Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves, Ali Baba and the Bandits’ Cave, and The Diamond Ankle. Other stories like The Adventures of Haroun al-Rashid, The Case of Ali Khwaja and the Jar of Olives are also included. Aladdin’s Tale is also narrated in five parts. The book is inclusive of beautiful illustrations. What will happen to Scheherazade if she doesn't have more stories to narrate? Will she run out of her enthralling tales? Will she succeed till the very end?

The Storyteller: Tales From The Arabian Nights was published in the year 2011.
