About The Authors The lead author of Campbell's Operative Orthopaedics, Dr. S. Terry Canale is a widely respected orthopaedic surgeon. He attributes his choice of career to his love for sports and research combined. After completing his residency from Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia in 1972, Dr. S. Terry Canale got appointed as the Chair and Professor at the UT-Campbell Clinic, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. He was the President of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and has been a member of Council on Education and Committee on Educational Programming.
Dr. James H. Beaty is a professor of orthopaedics at the University of Tennessee. With extensive experience in the field of orthopaedics and paediatric orthopaedics, Dr. Beaty has authored 48 book chapters on these topics. He has held the editorial role with the American Journal Of Orthopaedic Surgery, The Joint Letter, and Journal Of The Southern Orthopaedic Association. Dr. Beaty is a member of the American Medical Association, the International Society of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
