Summary Of The book
An introduction followed by 42 chapters, taking an investor through 5 phases, right from beginning the investment decision to the ‘why’ of building a business and how to go about it, step by step, Rich Dad’s Guide To Investing is a handy book for beginners as well as people who have questions regarding an already established business.
The first phase probes the readers’ mind with the concept of investing, whether the reader is ready to be an investor, and the various aspects of it. The first phase culminates with the 90/10 riddle, why 90 per cent of wealth lies with 10 per cent of people.
Phase 2 takes the reader to the next stage of decision making, beginning with solving the 90/10 riddle. Essentially a person new to investing would need convincing and have doubts in various areas. With a book like Rich Dad’s Guide To Investing, the trial-and-error phase is minimized, if not nullified. Phase 2 discusses the different types of investors by classifying them into Accredited, Qualified, Sophisticated, Inside and Ultimate investors and guides the reader to identifying the type he/she belongs to. Phase 3 teaches the reader the nuances of building a strong business and Phase 4 discusses the characteristics and behavior of a sophisticated investor. Phase 5 is about giving back to the society.
