Dr Md Jahangir Alam is an Associate Professor at the Department of Japanese Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He received PhD in Regional Cooperation Policy Studies from the Graduate School of International Cooperation Studies, Kobe University, Japan, as a MEXT-Japanese Government Scholar. In 2019, he received several international awards for his outstanding research contributions to international education development. His research interests cover a broad spectrum of development discourses and focus on Bangladesh-Japan Relations, Japanese Government and Politics, Human capital Development, and the Political Economy of Education. His experiences embrace collaborating with international organizations, especially International Labor Organization (ILO), International Organization for Migration (IOM), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and The Japan Foundation (JF). He has ample academic publications, including book chapters and journal articles.
