Muhammad Rafiqul Islam obtained M.Sc. in Sustainable Futures from Greenwich University, UK with full scholarship Provided by the Ministry of public Administration, Government of Bangladesh. He also did MA in Governance and Development from BRAC University, Dhaka with full scholarship provided by the Royal Dutch Embassy in Dhaka. Initially, he had his M.S. degree in Agricultural University with another full scholarship provided by the Ministry of Science and Information Communication Technology, Government of Bangladesh. He authored three Masters Theses. He has also produced many scientific essays and articles published in internationally reputed Journals. He imparted various trainings and workshops held in Singapore, Malaysia, China, Korea, UK, India and Bangladesh. He is married to Shuvra Alam, a college teacher of Social work. They have two daughters. He was born in 1967, in the village of Guria under the sub-district of Bakerganj of Barisal. By profession he is a Public sector employee. He is the eldest one mong three sons and one daughter of Hosne Ara Begum and Ismail Sikder.
