Summary of the Book
Once Upon a Star traces the lives of Bollywood celebrities – Raj, Simran and Sia. Raj is the biggest star in Bollywood and he decides to leave his wife, Simran, for the new sensation of the Hindi film industry, Sia. Simran, a former actress, gets busy with her family life and is now completely out of shape and feels dejected by her husband's decision to walk out of the marriage. Her in-laws dote on her and all their attempts of persuading their son to stay has been a complete failure. To add to the misery, their only daughter, Ashima, has ended her marriage and has decided to become an actor. In the midst of all the chaos and confusion, Raj and Simran’s children suffer as the news of their father’s alleged affair make the rounds. How will Simran and her children cope with this? Once Upon a Star is a contemporary story of ambition, love, betrayal and the quest for one’s true identity.
