মােহাম্মদ হুমায়ুন কবীর একজন পেশাদার চিত্র গ্রাহক। তিনি বাংলাদেশ টেলিভিশন-এর একজন দক্ষ চিত্রগ্রাহক হিসাবে নিজ গুণে প্রতিষ্ঠিত, বিদগ্ধ বিদ্বজন। ক্যামেরার পেছনে যিনি থাকেন-তিনি নিজেকে আড়ালেই রাখেন। কবীর যেন আরাে বেশী আড়ালের, আরাে বেশী নেপথ্যের। কিন্তু তার বিদগ্ধতা তাকে যেন দগ্ধ করে-অন্যের মূঢ়তায়। যখন দেখেন ক্যামেরা কৌশল যথার্থ না জানায় কত অসাধারণ মুহূর্তের ধারণ যথার্থ হয় না-অনেক সম্ভাবনাময় দৃশ্যধারণ অপাংক্তেয় হয়ে যায় । তিনি তাগিদ অনুভব করলেন-ক্যামেরার পেছনের মানুষের প্রায়ােগিক জ্ঞান বাড়াতে হবে। এই তাড়না থেকেই সাবলিল ভাষায় সহজ কথায় তাঁর এই রচনা। ক্যামেরা কৌশল সংশ্লিষ্ট শিক্ষার্থীদের বেশ কাজে লাগবে । মােহাম্মদ হুমায়ুন কবীরের জন্ম ৮ জানুয়ারি ১৯৬২ টাংগাইলের এক গ্রামে। তার প্রথম প্রকাশিত গ্রন্থ স্বাধিকার আন্দোলন এবং শামসুল হক।
