About the Authors
Tom Whyntie specialized in Experimental and Theoretical Physics, at the Natural Sciences at Sidney Sussex College, University of Cambridge. He got into Imperial College London for his PhD. His thesis was on for supersymmetry. He then worked temporarily as a post-doctoral researcher on the advancement of the CMS silicon detector system. In the year 2012, Tom became the full-time scientist for the project, based at the Simon Langton Grammar School for Boys in Canterbury, Kent, and the Particle Physics Research Centre (PPRC) based at Queen Mary, University of London. He regularly speaks about particle physics at numerous science festivals and events across the country. Tom also contributes to the YouTube HeadSqueeze channel's programme SciGuides.
