Imam ibn Taymiyyah is the greatest scholar from all the time in Islam. He is also known as “Shaykhul Islam”.The part of his name ibn Taymiyyah was actually taken by his grandmother who was an Islamic scholar too. He is known for his excellent work with fiqh. He was also a Hafez of the Holy Quran. There was no other scholar as good as him in explaining the Quran and Sunnah at that time. He was never married. He dedicated his life to writing books and teaching. Another great scholar Ibn Qayyim al Jawziyaa was his student. He wrote more than 500 books in his life. His book has been translated into many languages. One can find Imam Ibn Taimiyaah books online from many online shops. His famous book is “Al Jawab al-Sahih li-man baddala din al-Masih”. Some other well-known ibn Taymiyyah books are Majmu- al-Fatwa al Kubra that (36 volumes), Minhaj Al-Sunnah Al Nabiyyah, al Aqidah al Waasitiyyah, Kitab al-Iman, Disease of the hearts and their cures, The Godly Word, etc. As Sarim al Maslul ala Shatim al-Rasul is another imam ibn Taymiyyah book which has been translated in Bengali is a guideline on how Muslims should act if any non-muslims insult our the Prophet Muhammad(PBUH). This great scholar died in prison in his late life.
