"The 7 Habits Of Highly Effective People" Summary of the Book: Stephen R. Covey did a lot of research on self-help books when he was doing his doctoral thesis. During this time, he noticed that the books from the 1920’s concentrated on developing one’s personality traits, and the books before the 1920’s emphasized on character development. In this book, he speaks of seven habits of people who are effective and live a good life because of it. It discusses three stages of character development: dependence, independence and interdependence. This stage marks the progress from dependence to interdependence. This takes place during the growing years of a child till the time they learn how to take care of themselves. Later, they learn to live with others in a cooperative manner and this is termed interdependence. The next three traits are about interdependence. As social animals, humans need to work and learn with one another. It is important for us to form beneficial relationships, learn empathy, and work as a team. The seventh trait, or habit, is called Sharpen the Saw. This stage is also the renewal stage that is concerned with a person can learn to rejuvenate their energy through techniques like prayer, yoga, meditation and reading. The Power of Positive Thinking
The Power of Positive Thinking is a self-help book by Norman Vincent Peale, originally published in 1952. It makes use of positive case histories and practical instructions to propose the method of positive thinking. Peale's work describes how to achieve a permanent and optimistic attitude through unending positive conscious thought, usually through affirmations or visualizations. Peale writes that such techniques will give the reader a higher satisfaction and quality of life. Though negatively reviewed by scholars and health experts, The Power of Positive Thinking became popular in public opinion when first published and continues in popularity today
The Power of your Subconscious Mind The bestseller by a preeminent teacher of the New Thought movement, now revised and expanded with never-before- published commentary from the author.
One of the bestselling self-help books of all time, The Power of Your Subconscious Mind has helped millions around the world achieve remarkable goals, simply by changing the way they think.
Dr. Murphy?s mind-focusing techniques are based on a simple principle: If you believe in something without reservation and picture it in your mind, you can remove the subconscious obstacles that prevent you from achieving the results you want, and your belief can become a reality.
As an advocate of what is now popularly known as the Law of Attraction, Murphy shows that anyone can unleash extraordinary mental powers to build self-confidence, to create harmonious relationships, to gain professional success, to amass wealth, to conquer fears and phobias, to banish bad habits, and even to effect physical healing and promote overall well-being and happiness.
