The poems of Ecstasy record the poet's sense of wonder and appreciation of nature and his deep sympathy for the suffering people everywhere. The poems have been influenced by the experiences of the poet growing up in a remote village in Rajshahi, as well as by the unique stories of individuals who lived amid the splendour of nature but struggled to make a living. A physician by profession, the poet fostered a deep compassion, while a student at Rajshahi Medical College, for the patients who came to the hospital seeking cures. He was inspired and moved by doctors who were always ready to serve the hapless patients, many desperately poor. He has the greatest admiration for those doctors and the legacy they had left behind. Ecstasy also has some poems dedicated to the suffering humanity of our time, devastated by the COVID-19 virus, wars and conflicts and instances of extreme cruelty including ethnic cleansing.
