Ismail Hossain; a psychologist and a part-time writer is visited by a young woman named Iris Rahman. Iris claims that her husband is trying to kill her and wants Ismail's help. Ismail is reluctant, but his inquisitive nature compels him to visit Iris' husband Dr. Shafkat Rahman. He quickly discovers that Shafkat Rahman is a kind gentleman who is concerned about his wife's well-being. He tells Dr. Ismail about Iris' traumatic childhood and requests him to be her therapist. Ismail agrees and he starts having sessions with Iris frequently, which results in them having an affair. The affair is short-lived as Shafkat finds out about it. Ismail gets busy with work in order to stop thinking about Iris. However, he gets a call in the middle of the night from Iris and she tells him to visit her. Upon arriving at Iris' house, he finds her dead body next to the dead body of Dr. shafkat. A few moments later, Detective Sadman Basher enters the crime scene and takes in Ismail Hossain for interrogation. When Ismail tells him everything, he is convinced that Ismail is innocent, and offers Ismail a job as an investigator. Ismail says that he will think about it and leaves the premises
