Prof. Dr. Nizam
was appointed Vice Chancellor of BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology (BUFT), Dhaka in 2016, but after two years, he expressed his unwillingness to continue. He was appointed pro Vice-Chancellor of National University, Bangladesh in February 2022.
Dr. Nizam is a Scout since 1967, and was decorated with Silver Tiger, Bangladesh's highest award, and the Asia-Pacific Regional Scouts' Chairman's Award. A Baden-Powell Fellow, he is also a Major Donor Rotarian.
