Product Specification & Summary

Summary Of The Book
Cleopatra and Mark Anthony’s marriage can be truly regarded as one of the greatest love stories, which was accompanied with dire political consequences. Cleopatra’s Daughter begins with Anthony and Cleopatra killing themselves, as they didn’t want to die at the hands of Octavian, who was on a killing spree in Rome. After they killed themselves, their three young children were taken captive to Rome, out of which only two survived, who were twins. Their names were Alexander and Selene, and this incident made them become extremely close to each other.

The two of them hoped that they would one day return to the throne of Egypt, which they believed, was their rightful place. They were allowed to stay in Octavian’s sister’s household. However, as time passes by, they began to feel intimidated due to the ambitions of Octavian’s court and family. This novel is narrated by Selene, who possesses a very engaging tone, and introduces the readers to a number of historical characters, which include Octavia, Livia, Marcellus, Tiberius, and Juba.

Cleopatra’s Daughter revolves around Selena’s desires to find love, her unique interests, and the pull of family and friendship. She needs to search for the right road in a land where she is surrounded with several dangers, and has to cope with the loss of her family as well as her ancestral kingdom. Her time in Rome has been documented by historical facts, which help the readers travel back in time to comprehend the glories and horrors during that time frame. Moran has done a great deal of research to present the readers with a fascinating story on the lives of people in Ancient Rome, in her stunning novel Cleopatra’s Daughter.
