Group Captain M Kamal Uddin, psc, (Retired) is the eldest son of Late Mvi Mostafizul Haque, who was born on 03 December 1938 in Chittagong district of Bangladesh. He passed Intermediate from Chittagong Night College in 1956. He joined Pakistan Air Force in GD(P) Branch in 1959 and was commissioned in 1961 in Administration and Special Duties (Control & Reporting) branch. He retired from Bangladesh Air Force in 1988 as Group Captain. During his career in Air Force he attended different courses. Besides professional courses, other mentionable courses include Inter-services Selection Course from India in 1973, Administrative Management Course from Dhaka University in 1979, Air Staff Course from Defence Services Command & Staff College Mirpur in 1983, International Defence Managment Course from California of USA in 1986, International Law of War Course from Thailand in 1996, International Law of Warfare Course from Switzerland in 1998, and International Military Course on Law of Warfare from Italy in 1998. Group captain Kamal has performed various duties while serving in Air Force. Besides professional duties, he was the ADC to President Bangabandu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in 1972, Member of Special Martial Law Court from 1976 to 1978, Judge Advocate General of Bangladesh Air Force from 1977 to 1978, Martial Law Administrator of Dhaka Zone from 1983 to 1984, Principal Secretary to Chief of Air Staff of Bagladesh Air Force in 1985 and Directing Staff at Defence Services Command & Staff College, Bangladesh from 1986 to 1987. He has also joined 'Interfaith Conference on Abolition of Death Penalty', 'International Religious Conference' and 'Middle Europe Air Defence, Nuclear Co-operation and NATO problem & Prospect conferences. Group Captain Kamal has written extensively in different Journal and publications like -The Bangladesh Observer, Consumer Economist, Bangladesh Times, Weekly Holiday, Ittefaque, Samachar, Monthly Deen & Dunya and Indian Defence Review etc. His write up was on the topic like - SALT II, Air Defence, World War II Analysis, Battle of Britain, Zihad and War on Terrorism, Attack on USS Liberty etc. His Book on 'Operation Desert Storm' forward by Air Vice Marshal AK Khondokar was published by Bengali Press, 100 F-16 and and Agni – the Balance of Poverty' forward by Dr. Kamal Hossain was published by Lancer Publishers of New Delhi, India. He has also written a book on 'The History of Communalism and Partition of India- A survey of Historical Facts' which has been submitted to Columbia University, USA for publication. Presently he is working to publish book on ‘Bengal Mart 1742 -1745' forward by General MAG Osmani and “Palashey to Buxar'.
