The hero of the book, and the series, is Percy Jackson, who discovers in the first book, The Lightning Thief, that he is a demi god. He is the son of a human, Sally Jackson and the Greek God of the Sea, Poseidon. As a demigod, Percy is bestowed with lot of superhuman powers. Published in 2008, Percy Jackson And The Battle Of The Labyrinth shows Percy and his friends battling Luke Castellan, demigod son of Hermes, to save Camp Half-Blood.

Percy is assaulted by demon cheerleaders in his new school and has to return to the Camp. Here Percy and Annabeth, his close friend, have to embark on a quest to save the Camp. They have to stop Luke Castellan from attacking the Camp.The entrance to the Labyrinth, right in the middle of the Camp, is going to be Luke’s entry into the Camp. He has used this entrance before and this is how he plans to lead Krono’s formidable army right to the heart of the camp.

The inventor of the Labyrinth, Daedalus, might end up helping Luke, if not stopped in time and convinced otherwise. Percy, Annabeth, Grover and Tyson embark on this adventurous journey to find Daedalus, and stop the invasion. This journey of Percy and his friends is action packed, with Percy coming up against powerful enemies. The book is full of magic and myths; violence and death also find a place in this Percy Jackson And The Battle Of The Labyrinth. The book was published in 2008 and was received very well by fans and criticse. There is an audiobook that is read by Jesse Bernstein. The film rights of the book have been bought by Fox.
